Want to learn more about how to structure and format a document using classes and packages? This session is for you.

More Information about the Session

Prior to attending this session

  • Have a working TeX distribution and LaTeX editor on your computer
  • Know how to generate an .pdf or a .dvi file
  • Be sure the geometry, natbib, setspace, listings, color, and hyperref packages are installed (try PackageTestW2)
  • Contact me prior to the session if you have trouble installing

After successfully completing this module, you will be able to

  • Use the article class and basic commands
    • Why? To structure a simple document
  • Modify a LaTeX document to use different packages
    • Why? To find out when to use them and how it makes document creation easier
  • Change margins, linespacing, and paragraph spacing when using article.cls
    • Why? To format your own documents
