Teaching at a Distance Certificate Part 2: Building Community: Technology meets Pedagogy In-Person

The goal of module 2 is to provide participants with both in-class and out-of class strategies for community building in the distance-learning classroom. We will evaluate strategies for effectively communicating with students at a distance and building rapport among multiple sites through personal interaction and technology. Participants will develop methods for creating community in the distance classroom and effectively establishing a cohesive, single entity among multiple sites. These methods will include strategies to use in the classroom in addition to methods to be used outside of the classroom through web tools and technologically assisted mediums such as Springboard LMS and WebEx.
