Including citations in the text of your documents and writing to differentiate your ideas from your references Online

Have you ever read something and you weren't sure if the author was making a point or if they were stating the idea of someone else? Do not make this mistake yourself. Learn techniques to make clear where ideas in your paper originated.

Before the live session, please take the pre-session survey, read the content and do the self-check exercises, and take the post-session quiz on Brightspace. Bring two documents with you to the live session that are related. They should be somewhat short, so a book chapter, journal article, or encyclopedia article would be better than a book or thesis. Be sure to read these documents one time before the live session.

Prof. Tammy Stitz is the Applied Sciences Librarian. She has written theses, papers, and articles that require using citations. She has used many different styles to achieve this goal.
